Project Breathe™ Program
Pet Oxygen Mask Donation ProgramHelping pets breathe easier.
Since we created the first pet fence in 1973, Invisible Fence® Brand has remained committed to saving the lives of pets. Our innovations not only help keep pets happy and safe in their yards, but also safe from other hazards like house fires. Although the U.S. Fire Administration doesn’t keep an official statistic, industry sources estimate 40,000 to 150,000 pets die each year in fires. Most succumb to smoke inhalation. In most states, emergency responders lack the equipment to resuscitate and save pets.
That’s why Invisible Fence created Project Breathe™—a pet oxygen mask donation program designed to provide oxygen mask kits to fire departments and other first responders. Each kit includes a small, medium, and large mask; fire departments are eligible to receive one kit per station.
So far, the program has saved at least 201 pets from fire and smoke inhalation from the over 25,170 masks that have been donated.
Spread the word.
Help us help pets in crisis.
The Project Breathe™ Program goal is simple: To ensure that every fire department and rescue unit is equipped with life-saving pet oxygen masks. So far, Invisible Fence has donated more than 23,500 masks to fire stations throughout the U.S. and Canada. But we need your help to reach more.
The Project Breathe™ Program thrives by word of mouth. So, we ask that you contact your local fire department to find out if they have these pet-saving kits. If they don’t, please refer them here, so they can check out Project Breathe™ Program and fill out a request form.
You can also contact your local Invisible Fence® Brand dealer to learn more about getting involved in dog oxygen-mask donation in your town or community, or to make a special financial donation.
On behalf of all of us at Invisible Fence—and the pets these mask kits will save—thank you.
Communities Respond
I just wanted to say I think it's great animal rescue masks were donated to our Fire Department. The house across the street from me recently burned down, and though all people and animals were evacuated safely, it does not take a stretch of the imagination to see how those masks would be of great value. Thank you!

Thank God they had the masks. They [the dogs] are just like family. I don't know what I'd do without them. Things can be replaced. Lives can't, whether they're animals or people.

Request a mask kit for your station.
Here’s how it works.
- Determine number of kits needed for your department (limit 1 kit per station*).
- Fill out the information form. If your department has more than one station, please complete one form and account to secure a kit for each station.
- Invisible Fence will work with your department to provide masks. Each kit includes a small, medium and large mask. (Subject to participation by your local Invisible Fence® Brand pet professional.)
How to pay it forward.
- Encourage rescuers to use the kits, and share your success stories and experiences with us.
- Host a demonstration at the fire station for community members and media. We will write the press release and ask that you send it to the media. Fire stations will be presented with kits at this time.
- Assist us with contacting media for news coverage. We want to spread the good word and let pet owners know that fire departments in their communities are now better equipped to help save their pets’ lives.
